Sandwich Orientation/Matriculation Ceremony

The University of Nigeria Sandwich students have been advised to note that there is no difference between Sandwich and Regular students of UNN in either their curriculum or certificate.

 This advice was given by the UNN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba during the University’s orientation/Matriculation programme for Sandwich Freshmen held on 30th August 2018 at the Ekpo Convocation Arena UNN.

The yearly event which just turned 4, was started by the present administration to serve as a formal acceptance of the admitted candidates. The VC further urged the students to do what is required of them at the right place and at the right time

“We are prepared to assist you to succeed and to enable you live as lions and lionesses in the struggle ‘To restore the Dignity of Man”, Prof Ozumba said while encouraging the students to always do what is needful both academically, morally and spiritually.

The Director of the Institute, Dr Onyechi, charged the students to be proud of their programme and make good of their certificate. She stated that she became two-time commissioner of Education with her UNN certificate gotten through sandwich programme, “therefore, there is no limitation to your height of success with your programme”, she said.

Speaking at the event, the Director Medical Services, Prof. A.E Onwurah, disclosed that the VC has approved that sandwich students be included in the Health Insurance Scheme of UNN students as it is with the regular students. He said that this gesture would grant them almost free medical services all through their years in the University.

The Vice-Chancellor was at the event represented by the Director of the Institute, Dr Kay Onyechi.
