The Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka visited The University of Nigeria recently as a Special guest to The 2nd International Conference of an Icon, Chinua Achebe, organised by the Institute of African Studies, UNN.

Prof Soyinka while addressing the audience in the Vice-Chancellor's Conference room, noted that the University of Nigeria is the first indigenous University and that he is proud to be part its beginning. He went further to express his joy over the stimulating reception he received from the Vice-Chancellor and the organisers of the conference. He promised to be back as he sees himself having  so much do with the University.

The Conference also attracted representative of the Governor of Lagos State, His excellency, Akiwunmi Ambode; representative of Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Honourable Pat Asadu, Member, House of Representative, representing Nsukka/Igboeze South.
