UNN GETS CENTRE FOR JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

Plans are in top gear  to establish  Centre for  Japanese  Language and Culture  in the University of Nigeria, Prof James Ogbonna, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, has revealed. Prof Ogbonna made the disclosure on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library where he commissioned 300 book titles of Japanese literature donated by  to kick-start Japanese Literature Section in the Library. Ogbonna said the book donation was a prelude to the establishment of the Centre for Japanese language and Culture in the university, stating that the architectural design had been sent to a Japanese firm. “A team from Japan will arrive our university very soon to inspect a parcel of land allocated for the construction of the Centre”, Prof ogbonna said while maintaining that the University of Nigeria had a lot of collaborations with institutions in Japan, courtesy of the Vice-Chancellor’s drive for partnership.  According to him, “over 25 staff of our University are currently studying in Japan…

UNN P.R.O FACES SURPRISE

Members of Staff of Information and Public Relations Unit thrilled the PR boss, Chief Dr. Okwun Omeaku with a surprise birthday party in his office on Friday, May 10 2018.

He came to the office on that day in his usual gorgeous outfit, filled with enthusiasm for the day's job, only to open his office and was faced with a beautiful customised cake, drinks and with angelic voices of staff singing birthday song.

Chief was close to tears while expressing his gratitude for the show of love. The staff were also glad as they left the short party with father's blessing from their boss.

134TH INAUGURAL LECTURE BY PROF. SAMUEL NNAMDI OBI @ UNEC

It is a tradition in the life of academics, especially the newly- promoted or appointed Professors, to inform colleagues in the University and the general public, about their research career so far; and update all on their current and future research directions. 
Professor, Samuel Nnamdi Obi, recently, at University of Nigeria Enugu Campus presented the 134th Inaugural lecture on the topic titled, " Be Fruitful and Multiply; The Turbulent Journey of Uncertainty by Infertile Couple"









ETHICAL ORIENTATION FOR NEW STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA

An ethical Orientation for new students, organised by the Directorate of Strategic Contacts, Ethics and Publications (STRACEP), was conducted recently at the Ekpo Convocation Arena, University of Nigeria Nsukka, titled; "Champions of Human Dignity".

The Orientation was garnished with lectures from 13 speakers which included the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Administration and Academic Professors Charles Igwe and James Ogbonna respectively.
Awards were given to some outstanding individuals as Icons of Ethical Leadership for their numerous influence on humanity and the youth specifically. Awards were also presented to Miss Oluchi Nkwonta  and Mr Chibuike Odoh as best behaved students in  female and male categories, respectively.
