Prof. Kenneth Chibuzor Ofokansi, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, has joined the league of past Inaugural lecturers by presenting the 140th Inaugural lecture of the University of Nigeria titled: 'Breaking the Barriers to Effective Peroral Drug Delivery'.
In his lecture, Prof Ofokansi disclosed that Peroral drug delivery simply means oral drug absorption and it is the most desirable and preferred method of administering therapeutic agents for a systematic effect.
He went further to state that in the last four decades, the area of peroral drug delivery has undergone many changes and those changes are due to increased understanding of pharmaceutical and biological constraints at the molecular level and increased generation of drug candidates and also emergence of several advanced technologies.
